WIBU-Systems USA, a German firm headquartered in Seattle, says it'll pay that much to anyone who can strip its digital restrictions management software from a "protected" application.
And if somebody can break the security software, maybe they'll get a job, InformationWeek has the company saying.
"If you've produced software that will tell an oil company where to drill a well, you wouldn't want the rascals in Albania using that for free when you can sell it for $100,000," the story has spokesman John Pulson saying, "adding that they need their software to be able to protect those kinds of applications."
Hackers can register MacWorld next week where they'll receive an application, "protected with the latest WIBU-Systems anti-piracy software, along with a full software developer kit," says the story.
The challenge will start at 6 pm on January 31 and will run until 5:59 pm on March 14, adds InformationWeek.
