Spammer jailed for 9 years

- Alleged master spammer Jeremy Jaynes, aka Gaven Stubberfield, has been sentenced to nine years in jail in the first US first felony prosecution for sending e-junk.

However, the sentence has been postponed while Jaynes appeals the sentence.

He was the first to be charged under Virginia's antispam law.

Jaynes, 30, from Raleigh, North Carolina, was convicted on three counts of using deceptive routing information in sending bulk commercial e-mail.
